An exciting new opportunity

from

authors getting together for a common purpose

If you’ve written a book, what did it actually do for you?

Not the writing of it, the late nights or the word count.

What happened afterwards?

Did it open doors you weren’t expecting?
Change how people see you?
Lead to opportunities, clients, conversations?

and
Did your readers tell you how it affected them?

What happens after a book goes out into the world?

The initial splash.

The ripple effect.

The impact.

The things you couldn’t have predicted when you first sat down to write it.

Each contributor will share their own experience - honestly, thoughtfully, and in their own voice.

This is The Author Effect

We’ve started offering collaboration books at Jo Wildsmith Publishing, so let's begin with one that I’ve simply not been able to get out of my mind for a while.

As with every book we do in our Opus Publishing Service, we will be giving our inaugural collaboration book, The Author Effect, the ultimate care and attention, so that everyone involved ends up with something they’re genuinely proud to be part of:

  • High quality writing and chapter formation: you will be guided by hugely talented and highly in-demand writing coach, Suzanne Ulph.

  • Our dedicated Collaboration Book Manager will keep you accountable and on track, and look after you throughout the project.

  • The book will be professionally edited and double-proofread by our team.

  • Our experienced Opus Project Manager will format, upload, and publish the book on Amazon KDP and further global distributors.

  • Covers, interior co-author title pages, and promotional images created by our exceptional cover designer.

  • Hosted by me, and I want this to be exceptional.

Your chapter will sit within a carefully crafted, premium publication.

A true collaboration.

How will The Author Effect take shape?

We have a conversation to see if it’s a good fit.

If it is, you’ll secure your place in the book.

You’ll write your chapter, assisted by our writing coach.

We handle production, publishing and coordination.

We launch the book together.

We all share our success.
Your authority and expertise continues to expand.
More readers discover us all.

... and, yes, more authors will see how polished our Opus Publishing Services are.

Everybody wins.

What might your chapter explore?

Perhaps how your book…

  • Opened doors in your business or led to opportunities you hadn’t expected

  • Helped you step into your voice and be seen differently

  • Changed something quietly but permanently in your life

  • Reached people you never expected to reach

  • Made a meaningful difference in someone’s life

  • Connected you with readers who felt truly understood

  • Became part of someone else’s journey, healing, or growth

  • Gave you clarity, confidence, or a sense of this is what I’m here to do

  • Created conversations, collaborations, or a community around your work

  • Marked a turning point in your life or career

  • Became more than just a book

Maybe a combination of a few of the above. Or something else entirely.

There’s no single right story here, just your experience, told honestly - and our expert writing coach will help you to share it.

If you’re already thinking, “I know exactly what I’d write about”… that’s a very good sign.

The Details

Your Contribution

You’ll write a chapter of a maximum 3,000 words; plenty of space to tell a meaningful, engaging story.

You'll include your own bio and 2 photos, one of you and one of your book - or books.

You'll supply up to 3 links that will lead to your book, author profile, website, and/or social media.
You'll be involved with the promotion of The Author Effect before and after its launch, including appearing on my podcast, where you will also be able to delve into your original book.

We are aiming to entertain and inform the readers of our collaboration book, and also encourage them to explore your own book if you've inspired them to read more.

Your Investment

This opportunity is open to 12-15 co-authors.

The investment to be part of this exciting project is £999.

This can be paid in full, or over 4 or 10 payments.

Your Next Step

If this has been gently nudging at you as you’ve being reading it, the next step is a conversation with me; a chance to talk it through and see whether it feels like a good fit for you and your story.
This is one of those projects where the right people will just know.

If that’s you, I’d love to hear from you.

Let's speak soon,

Jo.

Remember, I am limiting The Author Effect to 15 co-authors maximum, so if this speaks to you, email me sooner rather than later.

Any Questions?

My book isn't launched yet, is this for me?

Generally, I would expect the co-authors of The Author Effect will have had their book out for a while, and therefore really been able to benefit from the release of their book.

Having said that, often when you write a book it gives you so much more than merely words on a page. The process can help you appreciate your successes, show you how far you've come, or really highlight how you've overcome obstacles. If that has happened to you, or writing your book has brought something else to light, then I'm sure our readers would love to hear your story.

Also, if your own book is being published soon, it will be out before The Author Effect, and if not, being featured in the book will help you promote your own book's launch.

Does it matter that my own book wasn't published by Jo Wildsmith Publishing?

Not at all. All are welcome. Contributing to The Author Effect will elevate your own book sales and gain recognition for your publisher too, so it's good news all round.

As long as you own the content in your book, then you will be able to refer to it and quote from it.

If your original book was published by a hybrid publisher or traditional publisher who may have retained some rights over your book, I would urge you to check your contract with them before participating in this collaboration.

How much would monthly payments be, if I don't want to do it all in one go?

Pay in full: £999

Pay in 4: £250 per month for 4 months

Pay in 10: £100 per month for 10 months

How long will this process take, from start to finish?

Once the minimum of 12 co-author spots are secured, we will confirm all dates and begin the writer coaching sessions. The book will launch no more than 9 months after the first writer coaching session.

The only exception will be if the launch date falls in December, as this is not a great time to launch a book, particularly on Amazon.

What versions of the book will be published? Will there be a luxury coffee table version, as with all your Opus books?

The Author Effect will be published in the following formats:

5.5" x 8.5" Paperback (Amazon KDP only)
6" x 9" Paperback (trade edition)
6" x 9" Hardcover
ebook
8.5" x 11" bespoke coffee table book

Distribution will be via Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing and further global distributors, in line with our Opus policy of reaching as many potential readers as possible.

While we cannot guarantee it, this 'wide' distribution model means bookshops and libraries will be more inclined to stock it on their shelves.

You can see full details of Opus, the publishing service we will use for The Author Effect, here.

Will it become an Amazon Bestseller?

There is so much more to writing and releasing a book than Amazon's Bestseller Ranking, but, of course, hitting number one in multiple Amazon categories is exciting and certainly something to shout about, thus creating a buzz about the book and kudos for the authors.

So, while we at Jo Wildsmith Publishing will never guarantee a full sweep of number ones, because no one legitimately can, our Project Managers are highly proficient at choosing relevant Amazon categories to give our book the very best chance.

Will I earn royalties from sales of this book?

Yes, for ebook royalties only. Ebook royalties from wider distribution will be shared between all contributors and the Host.

We begin with a focused Amazon launch, and following this, the book is distributed more widely across international platforms. From that point, ebook royalties are shared automatically where royalty sharing is supported.

It’s worth noting that for most collaboration books the primary value comes from visibility, credibility, and the opportunities that follow, rather than direct book sales. Any royalties should be seen as a small additional benefit as the book continues to reach new readers over time.

Will we receive author copies?

You will be able to purchase author copies of the paperback, the hardcover and the large coffee table versions of the book. We will not be including them as part of this collaboration book offer. We could - but that would bump up the price that you would pay for the project, which just seems pointless.

Once the book is cleared by the various distribution sites, I will be able to give you a price per copy and you will be able to order as many as you would like. You will also need to pay a delivery charge for your author copies; again, I cannot determine this until the book is complete.

Do bear in mind, if you have author copies to give away or sell directly, they won't register as sales, so if Amazon number ones are on your wishlist, and we multiply the number of author copies by the number of co-authors, that will be a LOT of books not counting towards the ranking.

This sounds great. Can I host my own collaboration book with Jo Wildsmith Publishing?

Yes! The Author Effect is the first book to go through our Opus: Anthologies collaboration book process. We have full package details available.

Contact me on [email protected] for full details.

Where can I ask further questions?

You can contact me directly at [email protected]

Who am I and why The Author Effect?

Hi, I'm Jo, Founder of Jo Wildsmith Publishing. I've been publishing my own books on Amazon KDP for over 15 years. As independent, self and assisted publishing has progressed, I have widened my knowledge and skillset to embrace wide publishing and book marketing.

As you can imagine, that makes me someone who spends a lot of her time chatting with authors of all kinds of books.

During these conversations, one thing that never ceases to amaze me is how much impact writing and releasing a book has had on them.

Whether it's becoming elevated in their industry, being seen as the go-to expert, building a fanbase, the enormous sense of personal triumph, the clarity and look-how-far-I've-come realisation laying it all out in a book can give, and, increasingly, being able to give up the day job to write full time, I realised that these inspirational stories are often going unheard.

Let's change that

I'm looking for 12-15 people who have written a book and would love to share how it has impacted them.
