Let's turn your idea into the book you always dreamt of — and here at JoWP we can help you with any genre, style or niche, fiction or non-fiction.
Book a chat with Jo and let's devise the ultimate plan to craft your masterpiece.
If YES
Book a chat with Jo here. Jo will ask you to send her a copy of your manuscript to our designated email address for submissions. Jo, or a member of the Jo Wildsmith Publishing Team, will review your manuscript within 10 working days. We will then either approve it if we believe it's ready to go, or come back to you with a recommended next step.
"Why would my manuscript not be accepted immediately? Why do you need to review it?"
It is essential that we publish high quality books that are ready to be read and enjoyed. It's not just our reputation on the line, it's yours too.
If NO
Again, book a quick chat with Jo and together you will work out the next step for your masterpiece. We work with carefully selected and approved partners including editors, a writing guide and full writing coaches, and will be able to introduce you to the right person. Book your chat with Jo here.
From manuscript to published book
We work on a timescale of 5 months, though in some cases can do it in 3, depending on other authors' books passing through our system. Your book is too important to rush. If you are in a hurry to get your book out there or have a specific launch date in mind, make sure you mention it to Jo during your initial chat.
If your manuscript is not 'ready to go'
The timeline will, of course, be affected by any additional services, such as an edit or help from a writing coach or guide. We will be able to assess this for you.
and once your manuscript is approved...
Jo connects you with your Project Manager, who will be your main contact throughout the process to ensure everything runs smoothly and your book is everything you want it to be. Your Project Manager will also complete the format of your book, ready for distribution.
Your Project Manager hands your manuscript to our qualified, professional Proofreader for her first proofread. She will do a second one at the end of the process, just to make sure.
Your Project Manager will also introduce you to our Cover Designer, an experienced graphic designer, who will consult with you to create the perfect book cover and social media images.
Your manuscript is turned into ebook, paperback and hardcover editions, plus a luxury 'coffee table' version - perfect for gifting.
Our Proofreader gives it a second thorough going-over.
Your Project Manager adds your book to our preferred distribution sites, including Amazon KDP, Draft2Digital and IngramSpark.
Launch Day! We keep you updated with sales and Amazon rankings, and also show you how to check your royalty reports, ask for reviews, and more.
PLUS you will receive an extra special gift from Jo: complimentary access to our Nine-Month Book Launch Plan, Chapter 9. Worth £299, Opus authors have this video series for free.
We don't abandon you after your book is released
Post-launch...
We ensure all the I's are dotted and T's are crossed. There are a number of responsibilities for authors post publication, and we make sure they're done.
We check in with you and increase the price of your ebook, if you want us to (recommended) across all distribution sites.
Complimentary access to Chapter 9, our Nine-Month Book Launch Plan.
Jo will invite you to talk about your book on her podcast.
Your book will be registered for international award opportunities.
Additional Services,
for if you'd like to take your book further
We never forget that it's your book, not ours
If you would like more details before you book your chat with Jo, here she answers the questions most people ask...
Yes! If you’re at the idea stage and need help to take it forward, I’ll match you with our carefully selected and approved Writing Guide or one of our Writing Coaches. Your Guide or Coach will introduce you to your Project Manager when the manuscript is ready for publishing.
Book a chat with me and together we can assess your requirements.
Simply book a chat with Jo and during that quick call she will give you the unique email address to send your manuscript to. Allow us 10 working days to read through your manuscript and approve it for publishing. This step is essential for ensuring we maintain our standards, but also to be fair to you, the author, that you are going to have a finished book that you can be supremely proud of.
Once approval is granted, we dive straight into the publishing phase of Opus: proofreading, formatting, cover design, and launch preparation.
However, if we realise that your book is not actually ready to head into the publishing process, we will help you with the guidance you require so you can make an informed choice as to your next step. We are sensitive and transparent. We know your manuscript will be very precious to you after the time you have spent crafting it. We also know that you won't want any nasty financial surprises, so we make sure you know the costs involved before you decide to go ahead.
Absolutely. You remain the full copyright holder.
Jo Wildsmith Publishing simply helps you bring it to life, publish it professionally, and launch it strategically - but the book is, and always will be, 100% yours.
In fact, we never forget this is your book, you remain at the helm and Opus is a fully consultative process.
Wide publishing is when a book is published beyond just one distribution company. At Jo Wildsmith Publishing, we believe that putting all your eggs in one basket is not just shortsighted, it's also dangerous. If that one distributor closes down, or blocks your book, no one will be able to read - or buy - your book.
Wide distribution makes your book available to more people, in more countries.
However, if you really want to limit your book to just Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, we can do that. Contact Jo directly at hello@jowildsmith.com for more information.
With Opus, we format and upload your book as an ebook, paperback, 6" x 9" hardcover book - and then we go above and beyond to also create a large Luxury Coffee Table version.
It’s a premium, larger sized hardback version of your book - heavier paper, beautifully printed, as many colour pages as you’d like, perfect for gifting, events, or keeping as a showpiece. We consult with you to make sure it's 100% bespoke, and you can choose to include a ribbon bookmark, foil embossing, a dust cover, sprayed page edges and more.
Most of our authors want to buy their Coffee Table books directly and give them as gifts or sell them independently, but we can also add them to an online store for general sale.
We can’t guarantee bestseller status (no one ethically can), but we can tell you that we have many years of experience and with our in-depth category and keyword research we give your book the best possible chance of achieving Amazon Best Seller status.
Yes. It will be distributed worldwide via Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, IngramSpark, BookVault, and more. Global distribution takes time for your books to 'go live', and this timescale is out of our control.
Absolutely. We can also create a stunning boxset. Let's talk!
The OPUS package includes guidance on how to track your sales, but if you’d like an extended marketing framework, that’s what Chapter 9 (our 9-Month Launch Plan) is for - visit https://jowildsmith.com/chapter-9 for more details.
As one of our elite Opus authors, it's my pleasure to give you Chapter 9 as a gift from me.
You can pay in full, or by instalments. We’ll chat about what works best for you during your call, but you can see our prices if you scroll down the page a little further.
We do not charge extra for paying by instalments, though we do round up to the nearest pound, for ease.
Currently, we do not ask you to pay anything before we review your manuscript. We are, however, not a manuscript review service. If we find that people are abusing our approval process, we reserve the right to change our policy, so we ask you to play fair to allow us to keep it this way, which works well for both the author and Jo Wildsmith Publishing.
We are transparent in our pricing and ensure that the editors, coaches, guide, or anyone else that we refer you to, are carefully vetted and approved. You can see all Jo Wildsmith prices on our various service pages, i.e. Opus, Vox, Magnum, Chapter 9, and Linea.
