When do I receive my first video and where?

The first video of the series will be available to you as soon as you purchase Chapter 9: Nine-Month Launch Plan. A new video will open up to you every week thereafter. There are 40 videos in total - one a week for the full nine months. You'll find all your videos and bonus masterclasses in your Chapter 9 Member Portal, delivered week by week. You will receive login details by email following your purchase.

During your first week, you will also be notified of, and invited into, Weekly WhatsApp Support and Monthly Accountability Sessions.

Expert Masterclasses are delivered by video at appropriate points throughout the Nine-Month Launch Plan.

Why is a longer-term launch plan necessary?

There are a number of reasons, including more sales, far wider reach, stability, ever-increasing visibility, building your fan base, becoming known… but also times are changing. No longer is it viable to orchestrate a glut of sales on a given day to guarantee and Amazon Best Seller. Marketplaces such as Amazon are now favouring books that show a sustained sales pattern.

And we really don't want Amazon to be the be-all-and-end-all for your book. Your book can go so much further!

How much is Chapter 9?

Chapter 9: Nine-Month Launch Plan currently costs £29 per month until you decide you no longer need it, or a one-time payment of £299 for lifetime access. Authors who have published their book or audiobook with us receive Chapter 9 free of charge, as a gift from me.

How long do I keep access to Chapter 9?

You will have access to the Chapter 9 Nine-Month Launch Plan as long as you continue to pay your monthly subscription, which means you will be able to use it again and again for subsequent books that you write.

I’ve already released my book, is it too late for me?

While Chapter 9 is based on the ‘3 months before and 6 months after’ concept, the fact is that doing this Nine-Month Launch Plan will help you even if your book has been on sale a while.

Is any element of Chapter 9 being delivered live?

We fully appreciate and understand that writing a book is an involved process, and that every author is finishing their masterpiece based on their own timelines, so it’s simply not practical to run Chapter 9 as a wholly live experience.

You will receive weekly videos and checklists for 40 weeks, and many of those weeks will also have bonus masterclasses from industry experts.

Once a month, Jo will host a live, online event. This will either be a training session, an interview, a Q&A or an ad hoc expert masterclass.

Is there a 1 to 1 element with this Nine-Month Launch Plan?

No, I’m afraid not. Imagine the logistics!

Is this just for print and ebooks, or for audiobooks too?

It’s for all of them. Yes, audiobooks too! Also fiction, non-fiction, children’s books…

Should I follow the plan week-by-week or can I jump about?

While yes, technically you can jump about once all the weeks are open to you, I'd say to get the best out of it you need to follow it week-by-week, as often one week will lead to the next.

I've set Chapter 9 as a drip-fed series on purpose, to make sure the content is delivered in actionable chunks. I continually ask our Chapter 9ers for feedback as to whether they prefer the drip-fed structure, and so far it has been the preferred option.

I recommend you follow the whole plan in order, and if you do have to pause, you will probably need to go back to the beginning again to get the most out of it. Once the videos are available in your Portal, they will stay there.

There is no penalty for only doing the work that particularly suits you and your book, but the more you make the effort and follow the plan, the more opportunities for success will open up.

What do I do if I need help?

We have an Office Hours WhatsApp Group that is (wo)manned by Jo every Wednesday. You will receive the link when you join Chapter 9, and there is a QR code that will take you there in most week's lessons.

Is there a done-for-you version of Chapter 9, the Nine-Month Launch Plan?

It is my intention that there will be, though it will not be until at least 2027. It will also be at a much higher price point, as I’m sure you can imagine.

Generally, much of the content of Chapter 9 benefits from you taking the action yourself, but yes, one day there will be a ‘Chapter 10.’
